Understanding DNS Records
What this article covers:
DNS records tell the internet where to send traffic for your domain.
Steps:
1. Use TXT records to prove domain ownership for PoliticalWin verification.
2. Use CNAME records when connecting a www subdomain to the PoliticalWin target.
3. Use A records when connecting an apex/root domain to PoliticalWin IP addresses.
4. Use AAAA records only if the dashboard shows IPv6 values.
5. Wait for propagation, then click Verify domain.
Important notes:
- Your domain registrar is where you bought the domain. Your DNS provider is where DNS records are edited; they may or may not be the same company.
- Changing DNS incorrectly can affect website, email, or other services.
