A useful starting point

What makes a useful parliamentary candidate website?

A useful UK parliamentary campaign website identifies the candidate and constituency, explains their background and priorities, and provides current campaign contact, events and participation options. It should distinguish the campaign from an elected MP's parliamentary work. PoliticalWin provides guided pages and forms; your team reviews the content, publisher details and privacy information before publication.

The constituency campaign brief

A campaign site your team can keep up to date.

Structured templates and guided fields help keep the presentation consistent while your campaign supplies the content.

CANDIDATE

A biography with a clear purpose

Present your background and reasons for standing with approved photographs. Keep the candidate name, office and constituency prominent throughout the introduction.

PRIORITIES

One overview, several useful pages

Give each main issue its own explanation. Link to approved party material or external sources where appropriate, while keeping your candidate site's structure easy to navigate.

CAMPAIGN

News and events in familiar places

Publish campaign updates, event times and venues through the dashboard. Visitors following a link from a previous update can still find the current contact and participation pages.

ENQUIRIES

Forms with UK location fields

Select United Kingdom for postcode terminology and flexible UK phone numbers. Postcodes remain optional, and your team can hide postcode collection when it is unnecessary.

From the campaign desk

Give a busy campaign a consistent public reference.

Campaign information often begins in different documents and conversations. Your website can give approved biographies, priorities and updates a clear home that is easy to share.

  1. Lead with the constituency and candidate

Use the correct constituency name and make your candidate status clear. Introduce your connection to the area, your experience and the office you are seeking.

  2. Separate the overview from the detail

Use a concise priorities page, then link to fuller issue pages and approved external resources. Visitors can find the relevant explanation without searching across unrelated posts.

  3. Maintain one current campaign contact

Publish news and event details in predictable places. Give enquiries and volunteer interest a clear route to your team and agree how responses will be handled.

A considered launch

Prepare a review-ready site before the pace increases.

Use a simple content review sequence that your campaign can repeat as new pages and updates are added. These steps are not an automated approval workflow.

  1. Gather approved material

Prepare the exact constituency name, candidate biography, photographs, priorities and campaign contact details. Check that you have permission to use the images and branding.

  2. Build the essentials

Choose a design and add the main pages through guided editing. Keep one clear introduction and link to the fuller details rather than placing every document on the homepage.

  3. Arrange the appropriate review

Have your team review the digital imprint, privacy text, donation destination and treatment of website costs. Keep the relevant invoices and follow the election guidance for your location.

  4. Check the public journey

Review the site on desktop and mobile, test contact and volunteer forms, and confirm the domain and external links. Keep official voting information linked to the relevant election authority.

Straight answers

Questions before you build.

Website features, campaign responsibilities and the details that help you decide.

Can independent parliamentary candidates use PoliticalWin?

Yes. Party-affiliated and independent candidates can use the same website pages, guided dashboard and public forms. You supply your campaign's own office, constituency and content. The site does not require a party affiliation.

Does the website replace a voter database or canvassing system?

No. PoliticalWin provides campaign pages, updates, events and public forms. It does not provide a UK electoral-register database, voter targeting or canvassing software. Your team can link to appropriate external campaign services.

Can the site link to our campaign donation service?

Yes. You can add the external donation URL your campaign chooses. PoliticalWin does not process political donations, check donor permissibility or manage election spending returns. Your campaign and the people responsible for its finances should review the destination and wording.

Should the election agent review website costs?

Your campaign should have the appropriate person review them. Electoral Commission guidance includes website design, hosting and maintenance within candidate spending where the rules apply. Keep invoices and use the guidance for the particular election and location; PoliticalWin does not determine how an expense should be reported.

Can we add our own digital imprint and privacy text?

Yes. The dashboard provides saved footer disclaimer text and a public privacy-page field. Enter wording your campaign has reviewed, then check the actual published pages against current guidance. These fields do not automatically establish imprint, data-protection or marketing compliance.

Can we use a UK domain, and are prices in pounds?

You can connect a domain you control, including a .uk or .co.uk address, with registration and renewal handled separately. Current plans are billed in US dollars. A UK domain does not establish UK hosting or data residency; confirm any requirement with support before signing up.
