Before adding the link
- Choose the contribution platform the campaign is approved to use.
- Confirm committee, treasurer, bank, filing, and account setup with the campaign's responsible reviewers.
- Copy the final donation page URL, not a dashboard or preview link.
- Review donation-page disclaimer language outside PoliticalWin.
- Confirm whether the campaign wants donation buttons in navigation, hero, footer, or issue/news pages.
Testing the button
- Open the campaign website on mobile and tap every donation button.
- Confirm the external page loads over HTTPS and shows the correct campaign/committee.
- Check button placement so donation asks are visible but not excessive.
- Track button clicks if analytics exists and the campaign has approved the analytics setup.
How to use this
- Use this checklist before publishing the donation button and before large traffic pushes.
- Keep the external donation URL in one approved place so the campaign does not accidentally paste old links.
- Retest after changing domains, templates, or navigation.
When to stop using a spreadsheet or document
A checklist is enough while the contribution platform is being set up. Launch or update the website once the external donation URL is ready, reviewed, and tested on mobile.
Important note
PoliticalWin does not process campaign contributions or provide legal, campaign-finance, tax, accounting, cybersecurity, election-law, advertising, or political strategy advice. Campaigns are responsible for their own donation links, disclaimers, filings, and review.
